The incentives of office range from the housing allowance which the incoming office holder each is eligible to receive once per year, the furniture allocation that they are entitled to once in four years and car loan which they have entitlement to once within their period.
The perks are some of the non-typical allowances that the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission prescribes to be given to the political office-holders.
There are still other allowances, both normal and abnormal ones, but housing, furniture and vehicle allowances are given at the beginning of the period of work to ensure that they settle down properly.
Buhari on June 5 will inaugurates the eighth National Assembly after the dissolution of the 7th National Assembly on the same date.
The oncoming members of eighth National Assembly include 109 senators and 360 members of the House of representatives which were elected on different political platforms all over the country
Research by one of our correspondents showed that the senators each would be paid N4, 052,800 as housing allowance as they resume office. They will even be given the same amount every year because the housing allocation is on yearly basis.

This implies that 107 senators are going to be given a total of N433, 649, 600m as housing allowance annually.
The Deputy Senate Leader and the Senate Leader are not entitled to this allowance because their particular accommodation will be supplied by the Federal Government.
Likewise, each member of the House of Representatives will be paid N3, 970,425 on assumption of office as housing allocation.
